I have been tutoring students in psychology, philosophy and writing for Wyzant since 2012. My approach to tutoring is to meet my student where they are - what are their strengths, what do they struggle with, and (most importantly) what interests them? How can I help you to work on what skills you already have and to expand your expertise into areas that you previously felt were too difficult or too confusing to master? I also have three years of experience as an adjunct faculty member at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology at their downtown Los Angeles campus. I have continued my interest in philosophy on my own, reading and speaking with philosophy teachers and graduate students over the past five years. Currently, I only tutor 1-5 hours per week, as the majority of my time I am working in my private practice in Beverly Hills seeing clients in individual and group psychotherapy. I feel that as a tutor, my task is to be able to translate whatever the material is into a language that you understand and can apply yourself. By doing this, I am encouraging you to put things into your own words and to make the concepts we are studying become relevant to how you already understand the world. I believe that with the right kind and amount of one-on-one attention, people can learn any subject and develop themselves into the students that they wish to be. I have been tutoring students in Psychology and Philosophy as well as helping others more generally with their writing skills.
