Experience

I completed my Master’s of Professional Writing degree at the University of Southern California in the spring of 2011 with honors. I studied fiction, non-fiction, profile writing, poetry, and screenwriting. I am adept in all genres and subjects. I have worked as a freelance writer for various musicians, photographers, and businesses, producing press kits, bios, expert consultation, editing, and ghostwriting. I have also tutored students from elementary through graduate school level for the last ten years. While at USC, I was an editor for the Southern California Review. I maintain an optimistic attitude and enthusiastic approach to every activity and endeavor I undertake. I am a critical thinker with leadership and organizational qualities above the par. I remain focused on improvement, challenging myself to learn more and perform at an optimum level consistently, day in and day out. My comprehension skills and acute attention to detail allow me to quickly analyze situations and make strong decisions based on all the information available at the time. I have a keen ability to memorize information efficiently and effectively. I am calm and amiable in high-pressure situations. I work well with diverse groups of people and have a way of making everyone involved comfortable together and productive. I grew up attending arts schools in Dallas, Texas and graduated from BTWHSPVA, where I studied theatre and acting. This experience combined with my progressive parenting have influenced me to be forward thinking and able to adapt to any working environment. I am connected in the literary and entertainment industries with many professionals that will back up my work ethic and production quality. I most recently studied closely with Dana Goodyear, who writes for the New Yorker; Sandra Tsing-Loh, who contributes to the Atlantic Monthly and NPR; Gina Nahai, author of Caspian Rain; Prince Gomolvillas; and Janet Fitch, bestselling author of White Oleander. All will attest to my proficiency as a high-level writer and engaging personality, should a written reference be necessary. I scored in the 70th percentile in the Verbal and Math sections of the GRE October 2014 1998 International Thespian Society 1999 National Honor Society 2008-2009 Dean’s List at CSUSM 2011 Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society at USC

I'm an enthusiastic, outgoing, detail-oriented, disciplined individual who loves life and the learning process. I am passionate about scholarly work and the writing process. I enjoy traveling, nature, books, films, museums, music, and any form of expressive culture that motivates others to create and excel. I am a firm believer that attitude and diligence are everything in this life. There is never an end to a person's capacity to improve and grow. I am deeply engrained in the communication process and aim to promote this method with all of my students as it is key to being successful in the educational environment.
